Toyota remains dedicated to minivans, and, as these spy pictures reveal, it’s striving on the next-generation Sienna. Found in Death Valley, California, this camouflaged prototype offers us a concept of what to anticipate from the new Sienna, slated to show up sometime next year as a 2021 model. It’ll be a long-overdue replacement for the current, third-generation Sienna which has been around since 2010 and has become dated beside newer competitors including the Honda Odyssey and the Chrysler Pacifica.
2021 Toyota Sienna Design
The new Sienna’s total shape is timeless minivan fare– duh– and does not appear to make any extreme changes compared to the current model. The most significant updates will be seen around the front end and the rear end, where new, more modern headlights and taillights can be seen looking through the camouflage.
2021 Toyota Sienna Engine
Underneath, the new Sienna will ride on a version of Toyota’s global architecture seen throughout much of the present lineup. Front-wheel drive will be standard, and all signs point towards Toyota is continuing to use all-wheel drive, as it’s the only van in its segment with that choice (for now). An updated version of the 3.5-liter V-6, such as the 295-hp variation of this engine in the new 2020 Highlander, must be the sole engine choice in the beginning, although Toyota may see in shape to include a hybrid version later to take on the Pacifica plug-in hybrid.
2021 Toyota Sienna Interior
Our photographers didn’t get a look at the new Sienna’s interior. However, we’re sure it will be just as family-friendly as you ‘d expect, with seven or eight seats and all way of kid-oriented features.
2021 Toyota Sienna Report
We’ll likely hear more official word from Toyota about the new Sienna beginning in 2020, so you minivan fanatics out there should keep your eyes peeled.
